A mom recently reach out to ask if it was recommended to find a guru for her son, who was asking questions about "the meaning of life."
For a child, there is nothing more beneficial than a mom who loves him/her, who is honest and truthful, and teaches him/her that the meaning of life changes with every breath, hence the importance to place his/her attention on his/her breath, and observe sensations in the body. Honor those sensations by choosing to do what is beneficial for his/her peace of mind. The guru is within. The meaning of life is to be alive in every breath and listening to his own heart for the answers. 🙏🏼 Allow him/her to understand on his own, life, at his/her own pace, in his/her own words. Using his/her own intuition. The Universe is in every breath we take. You can tell him/her "I love you, I am proud of you, I love to be your mother, I love that you are my son" - what about that for the meaning of life. It is Ok that some questions have no answers, such is life.
What I would not do is to "find him a guru". This would be to teach him so early in life that to search for answers he/she has to turn his/her power of free will and surrender it to someone else. The teacher is within. All one does is focus on the breath and listen.
🙏🏼✨🙂
Here is the ToDo list:
Do no harm
Do not lie
Do not steal
Do not intoxicate your mind with alcohol, drugs, or negative thinking
Do avoid sexual misconduct ( for a child = Choose to be in good peaceful kind company)
Then the mind can focus on the breath. Once a mind is focused it can quite down enough to hear the wisdom that arises from the experience, understanding that Life is always changing. 📷<3
What do you tell your children about the meaning of life?
